Seattle’s one of the top cities in the Western US in attractiveness for commercial real estate professionals, according to RETS Associates director Berkeley Davis, snapped with principal Kent Elliot. The company’s inaugural Western Cities Survey, which asked workers about their preferred relocation destinations, found that San Diego ranked the top region as the place that respondents would relocate to when presented the right opportunity. Denver ranked second, followed by a tie for third between San Francisco and Seattle.
“Firms in Seattle highly value a balance between work and life outside of the office,” Berkeley says. According to the survey, the No. 1 reason pros would move to the Seattle region is for a better quality of life while still being fairly compensated. Second, commercial real estate pros cited their career as the next driver for relocation to Seattle. In the current cycle, there’s a lot of construction and development activity to provide new opportunities.
